Cops Construction performance analysis of homes targeting heat losses, air changes, and humidity level can help you.

Tom Cops, a mechanical engineering graduate of UW Platteville will educate you on how to minimize heat losses and humidity problems. IAQ (indoor air quality) will be considered relative to your lifestyle, and a safety test performed for CO.

Using instrumentation and knowledge gained as a builder for 20 years, Tom will interact with you while taking data. A “normal” performance analysis will be outlined in a handout titled “Heat Loss, Humidity, & IAQ”. It will be from 75 to 90 minutes long; observations/ recommendations will be written down and discussed with you. Cost for a local visit (Kaukauna to Neenah) is $75.

What you can expect: Tom will reply promptly by e-mail, and a visit will be scheduled. If that does not go smoothly, a phone conversation will follow. Scheduling by phone is good, but not preferred 766-9970. Please have cash or check available after service.

*Instrumentation will be used to check the humidity level of your home. Typical humidity sensing equipment is not always accurate, and according to some sources are frequently in error by more than 20%. The humidity level of your home is always changing. People breathing, showering, cooking, and dishwashing among other activities produce water vapor. In winter, vapor latent air is exiting your home and dry cold air is entering. Water vapor can be exiting your home at the same time air is entering. Let Tom explain it to you so you can make your home the best it can be. Tom will also check your home to insure your hot water heater is exhausting properly (with all appliances on). Solar gain will also be considered and a single window measurement will be taken and discussed.
